About Gradsko pozorište Podgorica
City Theatre Podgorica commenced its works in January 1951. During the sixty years of their existence, this theatre company performed numerous productions on Puppet and Drama Stage for children. in December 1999. the city theatre opened the third stage, expanding their repertory to include productions for grown ups. City Theatre has for a long time been the only professional children`s theatre in Montenegro. Children`s repertory is primarily focused on classics, but also nurture diversity of approaches by gathering acclaimed local and international artists whose different artistic poetics and ideas unmistakeably bring along something new and fresh. City Theatre Podgorica commences its greatest affirmation and growth during the nineties, touring acclaimed national and international festivals: Yugoslav Children`s Theatre Festival in Kotor, Yugoslav Children`s Festival in Sibenik, Biennale of Yugoslav Puppet Theatres for Children a Bugojno, Sterijino Pozorje festival...etc.
